In May 2012, my sister and I sold our dad's house. We cancelled the homeowner's insurance with Encompass Ins on May 18, 2012. By July 13, 2012 we still have not received the refund on his insurance.

Whenever I call to find out the status it's one excuse after another. Today, I finally called the Louisiana Ins. Com.'s office to file a complaint. I printed out the forms to fill out and will mail them tomorrow.

There is no way it should take this long for an insurance company to take two months to refund an ins. premium for an old man whose home had to be sold.

Shame on them. Anyone thinking of using this company.....STAY AWAY!!!!!

Monetary Loss: $1300.

Are you dealing with Encompass directly or are you going through an independent agent? If you're going through an independent agent, they should be able to process your cancellation on line as soon as the signed cancellation request is received.

If this is the case it's not Encompass ... rather it's your insurance agent.

By the way, I am an independent insurance agent who also represents Encompass, so I know this to be a fact. Good luck!
