Encompass Insurance in Rogersville, Alabama - Encompass Ins does not care about the client!

My husband is disabled, then required knee replacement, one month post surgery the home we had been renting since Jan 2002 caught fire. Major losses & we were underinsured, that is our fault. But Encompass sent in subcontractors to "help" us recover. They promptly cut a check but we had to request the bills from the subcontractors to see where 1/3 of our claim was paid to. We did report damage & lost items to Encompass made by their subcontractors. They do not care. We have reported being charged for services not performed by subcontractors but billed to our claim. They do not care. I sent detailed photo's and documentation & the representative did not even bother to open for over a month & that is when I contacted her again. Great rates, perhaps but don't have a problem. We have been fighting the Encompass battle for 6 months & in March it will be one year since the fire. We are just a policy to them not people.

Encompass Insurance Claim
Twice we have had cars totaled by drivers with Encompass Insurance. The first time we were naive about their bad faith practices; i.e. under valuing the car, refusal to authorize a rental, refusal to take responsibility until they go the police report (which after...

I purchased a homeowner's insurance policy from Encompass and paid the full year in advance. Six months later I received a bill from them for what amounted to a 50% premium increase. Since I knew I had paid the full amount in advance I assumed it was an error....

Encompass Insurance guarantees the replacement of your home, so they do require that high cost dwellings are appraised. Check the rules of your state though. In Illinois, they must change the dwelling coverage amount within 60 days of policy issue.

Encompass Insurance is terrible!

Got my first bill from them and it was a notice of cancellation. Called them to see what the deal was and they said they sent a bill and it was never paid. So I asked to pay it over the phone and they said they were unable to do that or anything online and I still have a $25 late fee for their mistake. So the only way I can send them my payment is through mail... Get with the times. It was impossible to speak with an actual person too and when I got a hold of someone, they were pretty rude.

Sorry, Ticked off. My coverage is not in MA and I did not realize they would be so different.

Actually, Lisa, if the OP has an auto policy in MA, they can't pay on the automated line. We've always had to pay our auto policies in person or through the mail.

Only our homeowners policy is covered through automated or online payments. We've found it impossible to reach anyone in customer service at Encompass.

Only the claims line works. It's ridiculous.

This is so not true. While the post office may not have delivered your first bill you can pay on an automated phone line, on the phone to your agent or even on line. Are you sure you were speaking with an Encompass representative or someone in your agent's office?

This is so true. My siding came off in a storm and they said it would take about 100 to fix it so do it yourself.

Then while they were at my house they said I better repair water damage on my roof and he was marking it down on my policy so if I tried to put a claim in they wouldn't cover it. Today I got a letter from them to clean the Moss off the side of my house!

Encompass Insurance in Boston, Massachusetts - Encompass sucks and needs to be shut down as a company

Update by user Oct 28, 2011

It\'s been 30 days and still no luck with encompass, I just came from court this morning and they told me that encompass was supposed to send me something in writing that they would cover the rental car. Needless to say, I have hired an attorney to fight this situation for me.

Original review posted by user Sep 27, 2011

Encompass is full of ***, 1 of their drivers hit my car. She then told the police one thing at the scene and told encompass (her company) something totally different. They first said they would cover my rental vehicle, then when the bill reached 2 grand (in just 35days) they said they would find it a 50/50 loss, which I was not accepting b/c I had done nothing wrong. The next week they just flat out denied the claim. Even though all evidence pointed at their insured being guilty. I informed them that there was a traffic camera at the light they told me I would have to contact the city for the video (which is absurd). BTW on top of that she ignored them for 30 days (guess she had 2 come up with another lie about the accident scene). When I called my insurance company and told them about the chain of events (i.e. the woman having 2 different stories about the accident) they said a "normal" company would have questioned her lying. I will be filling a complaint with the insurance bureau for my state and also the BBB.

Encompass is evil. Their homeowners policy adjuster has lied to me over and over again.

Their strategy is to crush the claimant and just take all the money.

Encompass was bought by Allstate in 2005 and went gradually to ***.

Allstate is the worst-rated insurance company in the country. They are just pure evil.

Run away, run away...

2,000.00 for a rental in 35 days? your insane if you expect an insurance company to Pay that.

most people carrie coverage of 30 / day or a total of 900.00 the rest u have to pay or have the girl that hit you pay. Insurance does have limits.

use your head next time you rent a vehicle. ***.

Encompass Insurance

Encompass Insurance is in the business to just deny homeowners. Our house damaged in recent hurricane and with loss of power for 3 days, all of my food was spoiled. So I file a claim and the answer is your claim has been denied. You take my money every month and when I file a claim, it's denied. Look to be receiving an Executive & Insurance Department complaint along with contacting the Better Business Bureau. In addition, I have contacted the media so be looking forward Encompass to answer that. You have pissed off the wrong person and haven't heard the last from me.

Encompass Insurance in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Raised insurance because of bad credit!

I do not think it is fair that Insurance companys raise you insurance because of poor credit. Pa. you need car insurance to drive your car. Would it be better to keep it cheaper? How can people afford high insurance? My car is three and a half years old and my insurance is more now than when it was new. I think this is B. S. Encompass insurance raised my insurance price from $750.00 the year before to $950.00 in 2010. I had an accident in the winter but it was only $1250.00, and there was no damage to my car. All the company's advertise save hundreds on car insurance until they check your CREDIT SCORE. B. S.!!!

If you don't like the credit situation, then get involved with your legislator. These Bean counters (will ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES) not Just Encompass, have decided that those who have poor credit make more claims then those with good credit.

Well DUH.. Those with poor credit can't afford to pay off/under the table the other person or pay to repair cost of their home/auto themselves. What is insurance for. I realize they have to make money.

Storm damage each year. Some people get a brand new roof every other year due to storms and then wonder why costs go up. Do the math people. However, I do agree that credit scoring is UNFAIR.

The rich get richer, they can drive drunk, kill someone and pay less than the poor SOB with no claims and poor credit. I am an Agent.

I sell for this company and many other. They all are the same.

Your rate increased because of your accident, not because of your credit score. Why would you expect your rate not to change when the company paid $1250.00 for your accident?

Get a clue. Have a nice day.
